A conference titled “The Gospel of Life and the Theology of the Body: John Paul II as Interpreter of the Second Vatican Council” will take place at Catholic University of America's Pryzbyla Center 7- 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, and 9-5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12. Sponsored by the John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, the conference will mark the anniversary of two vital Church documents, Gaudium et Spes (1965) and Evangelium Vitae (1995). On Saturday, Nov. 12, "Maryland Unites for Life: Together We Stand" will be presented by Maryland Right to Life (MDRTL) and cosponsored by several Maryland pro-life ministries. The event is a Pro-life Education Convention and Awards Banquet, which will be hosted at the Baltimore Inner Harbor Holiday Inn, beginning at 9 a.m., and concluding with a reception and banquet at 6 p.m. The convention will bring together local and national pro-life experts speaking on a broad range of topics, so that you can learn what you need to know about critical pro- life issues. · Physician, physician's assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP): This is a part-time, paid position with benefits. Applicants must have a current license. Responsibilities will include providing sonograms and counseling for abortion-vulnerable clients, performing STD testing, overseeing and training medical volunteers, and providing outreach to the medical community. Ultrasound training will be provided, but preference will be given to applicants who have ultrasound experience.
· Director for our abstinence program: This is a full-time, paid position with benefits. Applicants must have strong communication and public speaking skills and be convinced abstinence is the only means to sexual health outside of marriage. A strong, biblical understanding of God’s plan for sex and the ability to testify to your convictions and lifestyle are integral elements of the teaching.
· Development Assistant: This will be a part-time, paid position with benefits. Responsibilities will include cultivating individual donor and church relations, managing a speaker's bureau, managing the church liaisons, locating event sponsors, recruiting event volunteers, and related administrative work. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in marketing/public relations (or related field) or equivalent experience. Must possess strong communication skills and be a self-starter.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, from 1 to 4 p.m., an Adoption Month Multicultural Event will be hosted at Bethel Korean Presbyterian Church, Ellicott City, MD. The cost is $15/family, or $10/couple, which includes a "Taste of Korea," a raffle, and admission to cultural performances. A silent auction will also be held. volunteer, support pregnancy centers

Interested in volunteering your time to help support women choose life? The Northwest Center will be holding a volunteer training for those interested in becoming pregnancy help counselors and supporting pro-life work within the community, on Saturday, Nov. 12, and Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at The Catholic University of America's campus ministry office.
