Through Oct.10, 2005, all are invited to participate in the 13th Annual International Week of Prayer & Fasting, a nine-day prayer vigil for the conversion of nations, an end to abortion, and the building of a culture of life.   • Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 8, a Youth, Young Adults, and Family Rally, "To Build a Culture of Life," will take place 8 a.m.-9 p.m., at Catholic University of America's Raymond DuFour Center. The event will include prominent speakers, including Christopher West on the "Theology of the Body," Molly Kelly on Chastity, Fr. Tad Pacholczyk, PhD, on "Stem Cell Research and Cloning," and more. The cost is: Youth (13- 24) $15, Young Adult (25-39) $25, Adult $50 There is a $5 discount/person if pre-registered by Saturday, Oct. 1.
  • Also, a Prayer Vigil will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Basilica of the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Featured speakers will include Fr. Frank Pavone, director of Priests for Life, and Dr. Theresa Burke, founder of Rachel's Vineyards. This event is free.

The Rockville Pregnancy Center in Rockville, MD, has an opening for a 24 hr/wk physician, physician's assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) : Applicants must have a current license. Job responsibilities will include providing sonograms and counseling for abortion-vulnerable clients, performing STD testing, overseeing and training medical volunteers, and insuring outreach to the medical community. The Greater Baltimore Crisis Pregnancy Center's 25th Anniversary Fall Banquet will be held tonight, Friday, Oct. 7, at The Preston Room, 25 W. Preston St., Baltimore, MD. A Culture of Life Communion Breakfast will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, to benefit the Gabriel Project, an interdenominational church-based outreach to women facing crisis pregnancies. The Hagerstown Area Pregnancy Center (HAPC), a life-affirming medical clinic, will host its Grand Re-opening on Sunday, Oct. 16. healing retreat

A Rachel's Vineyard weekend retreat will be presented at the Aisling Retreat House, Manchester, MD, beginning 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21 and ending Sunday, Oct. 23. The retreat weekend, designed for a small group of participants, offers a supportive atmosphere and "a psychological and spiritual journey for healing after abortion." On Saturday, Nov. 12, "Maryland Unites for Life: Together We Stand" will be presented by Maryland Right to Life (MDRTL) and cosponsored by several Maryland pro-life ministries.
